KING Blu-ray is combinedly produced by Uni Ads Ltd. & Bhavani DVD, inc.

Yes, THE FIRST Blu-ray title in Telugu is "KING". This Blu-ray will be available for sale online and in Virginia stores (Rainas Indian market, Chantilly, VA) TODAY, the 13th, October, 2009. So, October, 13th is the release date of first Blu-ray "King". Other cities will have it available for sale from tommorrow. Technically, I am hoping that it will be the best Indian Blu-ray after Sivaji Blu-ray. I will get you the screen captures to you today.

Telugu Film: KING
Hero: Nagarjuna
Heroine(s): Trisha & Mamata Mohandas
Other Stars: Srihari, Deepak, Geetha, Brahmanandam, Sunil, MS Narayana, Krishna Bhagawan, Jayaparakash Reddy, Ajay, Surya, Chandra Mohan, Sayaji Shinde, Venu Madhav, Master Bharath
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Screenplay - direction: Seenu Vytla (Director of "Dhee" and "Ready")
Producer: D Sivaprasad Reddy
Banner: Kamakshi Kala Movies

The Blu-ray film in Telugu ‘KING’ was authored by Prasad EFX in its state-of-the art Blu-Ray compression and authoring facility in Chennai. Prasad EFX scanned the original picture negatives at 1920x1080 (High Definition) resolution using a very high end 4K resolution scanner for best results and performed the color correction using the latest color grading systems. The first Blu-ray made with 4K resolution scanner in Prasad EFX is KING title. This has ensured excellent color management throughout the film, fine details and very good clarity, thus enhancing the viewers experience to a level previously not available in Indian Films. Having worked on major Indian feature film projects including Sivaji, Kuruvi, Billa, Pokkiri and Villu, Prasad EFX’s expertise in Blu-Ray has been appreciated by the industry at large. Because of new 4K resolution scanner used for King title, it will show significant difference in every aspect compared to other films authored by Prasad EFX.

Technical Details of Dual Layer Blu-ray of King:
  • Pristine High Definition 24p Video - 1920x1080p-AVC H.264

Thanks to Bhavani. Blu-Ray looks fantastic. Lossless Audio rocked as well. Well, don't expect Hollywood standards as our producers don't handle their negatives with care.

I wish there is a way to have "Play All Songs" from Menu.

Looking forward to better movies on Blu-Ray. King like most Kamakshi movies suffers from tasteless overly dark colors and cheap makeup. I thought Trisha looked gorgeous in "O Manmadha" Song. But the details you see in Blu-Ray made her look terrible because of the ugly makeup she got around the eyes.

I played Atadhu DVD right after watching King Blu-Ray as I think Athadu is still the best looking DVD in Telugu. Not necessarily because of Authoring but the pleasant colors the movie has and the photography.

I am not sure if it's financially feasible but Athadu might be one of the best movies to see on Blu-Ray.

Nice seeing you and Pav posting again. I agree that King is a little tacky production values wise. I will checkout the BD anyway. It would be good if the BD is released with the DVD. Otherwise the interest in BD goes down

Owning the King DVD I cannot justify buying the BD if it werent the first telugu BD. Thanks to Bhavani for making this happen

I would like to see Yamadonga or Magadheera as the other poster said other than Arundathi

Athadu and pokiri will be awesome in bluray, Okkadu also preferable. Gamyam, Baanam KBL and NNN is also worth watchable in bluray. Lets hope they will be in bluray in coming days
